All of us here at High Dental Implants Melbourne, are part of a team of considerate, understanding and non judgemental professionals who understand the science behind your dentures slipping and can actually do something about it.
So come on in to see us today at High Dental Implants Melbourne to make a positive change in your life. Thanks to the advanced dentistry that has become available to us, there is now a procedure that we can use to fix your dentures onto the innovative dental implants that are commonly used to replace missing teeth permanently.
A dental implant is screwed into the jawbone at the site of a missing tooth and acts as a replacement tooth root. A crown or bridge is then hung from this titanium rod and is permanently fixed there. Patients do not need to be concerned about eating certain foods or how their smile looks; it is a perfect and natural looking replacement to lost teeth.
The treatment can be modified and is known as implant overdentures or implant stabilisation. It can offer you a more permanent solution to your dental situation and has the potential to improve your life significantly. You will simply be able to enjoy eating, chewing, laughing and speaking again knowing that your dentures are going to stay put.
How does it work?
It is a surgical procedure where you will have implants placed into your jaw. We first need to assess the quality of your jawbone to make sure that it has not receded too much so that there is enough bone to work with.
The implant integrates with the bone over time and creates a strong and secure permanent bond. Don’t worry if we find that your jawbone has degraded too much, as is common with people who have ill fitting dentures in the first place, we can simply perform a sinus lift prior to the implantation to provide you with the bone that you need.
Once your implants have healed, fusing with the bone and surrounding tissues we can place your dentures on top with a range of special fixtures. This enables you to be able to remove your dentures for cleaning, but once you clip them into your implants, they will stay put.
We can provide you with temporary dentures whilst you are healing so that you do not have to be concerned throughout the process. For most people, healing time can take up to six weeks.
All treatment carries risks. Individual consultation is required with one of our practitioners to ensure that the treatment is right for you.
